This is what we have growing so far...
Various Patty Pan Squash and Zucchini
Onions
Our beloved peppers. We grow many different types of peppers, most of them spicy. Among them are the two hottest peppers in the world, Scorpion Trinidad and Bhut Jalokia.
Habanero peppers! We are growing Red, Chocolate, Peach and Mustard Habaneros.
These are Lisianthus sprouts. We have attempted to sprout these for 3 years now and this is the first time they actually sprouted. But after 2 months they are still so small. Not sure if we will continue trying them. We may just end up buying them as plugs (nice sized sprouts that come in flats in the mail).
Part of our basement is overrun by the sprouts!
Another project for the spring is getting the beehives ready. We preferred the look of natural wood to the typical painted hive, so we put a waterproof clear coat on them.
Last summer we ordered Easter Egger hen chicks. We also ordered one Blue Ameraucana rooster. His name is Chuck Norris and he is becoming quite a large gray rooster.
The last rooster was another supposed-to-be-hen. He didn't mature very fast so we didn't know he was a rooster until about Christmas. Now that he is mature, he is the most beautiful one. He is a splash Easter Egger and his name is Kevin Sorbo.
Chickens love compost!
At this time of the year, we are getting about 30 eggs per day. This is about a week worth.
